Soccer Ben

Hey Everyone

Wanted you to know tonight was my very first night of soccer practice! I am playing soccer at PAC. My team color is orange, but I don't know my team name yet. I am big number 8!! My mom was very excited because 8 was her first soccer number when she played for the "Flyers" when she was little. I am going to miss my first game when I am at Disney, but I'll be there for the game on the 20th.

After practice I took my mom and Ms Jessica out to dinner (my dad gave me the money!)

So I'll tell you as soon as I know my team name, but until then "GO #8 ORANGE!!"

4 days till DISNEY!!!!

Love ya
Lil'Ben

PS I wanted everyone to now we have joined forces with other families in the fight against childhood cancer. The group is called "TEAM UNITE" check out the web site and learn how we together can cure childhood cancer, read about the teams (and the one Pirate Crew - you know us we always have to be crazy different) and learn the staggering statistics about childhood cancer. www.teamunite.net

Ahoy Ben,

Go #8 Orange!!!! Go Ben!!! Sorry we're so far away and can't cheer for you in person but we're doing it from afar. How very cool that you have you're mom's old number!!!

Are you in the mood for some soccer jokes?

What runs around a soccer field but doesn't move?
A fence!

Why can't Cinderella play soccer?
Because she runs away from the ball.

Ha ha ha!!!

Enjoy your big trip!!!!
Adios amigos!

Wow, #8 and Orange! Orange is always the best color to be. Some famous orange teams are the Clemsom Tigers and the Florida Gators. The Freemans love soccer and wish we could see you play. Please post some pictures. Sandee in AZ

Love and Prayers to all of the families of TeamUnite.

Yo ho Ben! Just wanted to send wishes of an extra fun Dinseyland trip. You and your family will have so much fun. Give the tea cups a good spin, Mickey a hug and feast on all of those sugary and delicious Disney treats. What a blast! And Ben, you might want to hold your grandma's hands on the rides so she doesn't get scared. He He!

I'm looking forward to some great pictures when you return.

Enjoy, kiddo!

Hey Ben & Family --

I wanted to drop in and say Hi to you. My son Caleb was diagnosed with a DIPG in April of 2008. He is a baseball player and he is so looking forward to playing baseball again this summer! I hope you also have a great time playing soccer, Ben.

If there is anything at all we can do to help you on this journey, we are eager to do so. We have made many great friendships among DIPG families and are grateful for them -- though we all wish we weren't here, of course.

Caleb's website is www.carepages.com/carepages/keepingupwithcaleb

A website that was a HUGE help to us, and continues to be, is www.justonemoreday.org -- it has lots of info that is specific to DIPG on it.

Also, there is a DIPG Yahoo group, where parents, medical professionals, and others who are involved with a child with a DIPG talk about treatments and practical issues. It is also a huge help to us.

Here is the link for it if you've not heard of it yet:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/DIPG/

It looks like you are at Disney this week! Have a great time! Caleb did something else for his Wish, but other families say that the Disney Wish Trip is truly the most wonderful thing in the world!

Please don't hesitate to e-mail or call if you'd like to talk. We are praying that the days continue to be great and that soccer season is wonderful!

Blessings --
